Tasting notes
46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot. Deepest crimson with smudgy rim. Fragrant with pure cassis fruit. Vibrant and expressive. Riper fruited on the palate, not raisined but heading in that direction. Plenty of fruit but lacks a bit of energy and freshness. Chewy texture. (JH)

Tasted blind. Bright fruit. Sweet start but a little lacking in complexity. Very youthful. Quite long – just unformed at present. (JR)
Coming from the incredible team at Château Léoville Poyferré, the 2019 Château Le Crock has a great nose of darker plums, currants, cedary spice, and tobacco. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, reasonably structured, impeccably balanced Saint- Estèphe with solid mid-palate depth, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length. The purity, balance, and length are all spot on, and it's going to have 15 to 20 years of longevity, if not more.
Owned by the Cuvelier family, proprietors of Léoville-Poyferré, this picturesque Saint-Estèphe estate has produced a fine 2019 Le Crock. Wafting from the glass with aromas of blackberries, currants, loamy soil and cigar wrapper, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with an ample core of succulent fruit underpinned by ripe, powdery tannins.
