Tasting notes
(Bouchard owns just 0. 27 hectare): Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Highly expressive aromas of plum, cherry, clove, roasted garrigue and underbrush feature terrific floral lift (Weber compared this wine to the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Cailles for its expressiveness and violet character but I find this wine more bracing). Superb silky wine with excellent energy to its flavors of cherry, mint and fresh herbs. An utterly seamless Bonnes-Mares with a vibrant, rising finish. There's something cool about this wine, especially in the context of its vintage. Bouchard's parcel is very old but they do not know the exact age of the vines, notes Weber.
