The 2018 Chevalier de Lascombes still feels slightly overripe and smudged on the nose. The palate is sweet and fleshy with candied red fruit, but it feels a little raw and lacks tension on the finish. There is a large difference between Deuxième and Grand Vin this year.

The 2018 Chevalier de Lascombes feels overripe and slightly stewed on the nose; perhaps it was picked a day or two too late. The palate is sweet on the entry, offering saturated tannins, mulberry and crushed strawberry fruit laced with white pepper, and a very ripe finish. It lacks a little cohesion and nuance.
Juicy and round tannins to this make it so attractive already. Medium to full body, delicious fruit and a long and flavorful finish. Excellent second wine from Lascombes.
The 2018 Chevalier de Lascombes is bright, punchy and everything a second wine should be, most importantly, absolutely delicious. Juicy, red berry fruit and floral notes are pushed forward in this supple, inviting Margaux.

With vines spread across 40 different parcels throughout the appellation, Ch. Lascombes is one of the most fragmented but also largest Médoc estates, with 120 hectares of vines, now owned by the MACSF insurance company.
