The 2021 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde comes from vines that are between 5- and 12-years-old. It has a fragrant nose with Nashi pear and Granny Smith apple, just a touch of wild fennel in the background. The palate is well balanced with sour lemon on the entry, not quite as creamy in texture as the Bourgogne Blanc but here I discern more complexity and terroir on the finish. Very fine.

Another success at the generic level is the 2021 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Au Bout du Monde, a medium-bodied, bright and precise wine evocative of crisp orchard fruit, citrus zest, toasted nuts and white flowers. Combining cut and texture, it's satiny and incisive.
Young vines, 5–7 years-old, up above and behind St-Romain at Cormot, 8 km along the route to Nolay. Tank sample. Bright, mid lemon. Dry with zesty, lemon and apple on the nose. Sweeter, richer apple on the palate. Zesty, citrus finish. (MH)
