Bouchard owns over two hectares of this climat, and the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Teurons was the first parcel of Pinot Noir harvested in this vintage. Mingling aromas of sweet berries and cassis with hints of peonies, raw cocoa and loamy soil, it's medium-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with bright acids and a nicely defined finish. This is another of the portfolio's sleepers.

Cask sample. A decidedly more orangey ruby than the Clos de la Mousse. Spicy nose. Broad palate with a certain floral note. Not intense but offers quite a lot of fruit and pleasure until a light, dry finish. You'd want to wait until it's a little less astringent. Not the most concentrated mid palate… (JR)
The 2019 Beaune Les Teurons 1er Cru has a very opulent nose, just a little overripe, with light prune and figgy aromas joining the red berry fruit; a little confit , perhaps. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and displays more freshness than the nose. But there is still a very slight greenness here, as if a couple of batches did not quite achieve phenolic ripeness.

Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most established wine producers. Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard, it is the largest vineyard owner in the Côte d’Or with 130 hectares of vines.
