Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2025-2036, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2021 Fixin Vieilles Vignes contains 80% whole bunches. They are quite dominant on the nose, slightly obscuring the terroir expression at present, though racking will help address that. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet red cherry, blueberry and desiccated orange peel opening, finely balanced with a playful, lightly spiced finish.

Aromas of cherries, sweet berries, spices and forest floor introduce the 2021 Fixin Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, textural and layered wine that's firmer and more structured than Mortet's Marsannay, but which possesses excellent potential.
