The 2020 Petit Bocq has a fresh and delineated bouquet with blackberry, bilberry and cedar scents that blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite structured with good density, sappy with a well-defined, graphite-tinged finish. This lingers long in the mouth, a superb Petit Bocq that is one of the best recent vintages that I have tasted.
The 2020 Petit Bocq offers up sweet dark cherry, leather, tobacco, incense, gravel and dried herbs. Pretty floral accents lift the finish. There's lovely complexity here, but the 2020 feels just a bit narrow, as it did from barrel. Even so, there's quite a bit to like.
The 2020 Petit Bocq is an attractive Saint-Estèphe. Dried herbs, cedar, leather, tobacco and iron add pretty, savory presence. On the palate, the 2020 is just a bit narrow. Perhaps more depth with develop with élevage. We will see.
