Score 94-97/100 · Drink 2017-2033, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Apr 2015
Scheduled to be bottled in April of this year, the 2013 Cotes du Roussillon la Muntada sports an inky purple color to go with full-bodied, ripe and concentrated notes of liquid blackberries, rose petal, crushed pepper and the wild herbs/scrub brush that's so common in the region (juniper, rosemary, pine, etc.). As with the Vieilles Vignes, this has beautiful concentration and a taut, energetic texture that carries vibrant acidity and polished tannin. While I'm not convinced this will hit the levels of the 2007 or 2008 (it's closer in style to the 2008), it's a brilliant wine from Gauby that will have two decades of longevity.
