Tasting notes
The 2021 Château De Chantegrive is charming, with a spicy, red and black-fruited style as well as medium-bodied richness. Based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, it has moderate concentration, some cedary, herbal nuances, good balance, and a clean, crisp finish.

The 2021 Château de Chantegrive has a well-defined nose of blackberry and raspberry mixed with wild hedgerow and light seaweed/black tea scents. The palate is medium-bodied with granular tannins, fresh with graphite-infused black fruit and quite sustained on the finish. This is uncompromisingly classic in style, but that's why I like it.
The 2021 Chantegrive comes across as a bit angular its contours. Frost was a challenge, and that is hard to get past. Nonetheless, it displays lovely red fruit and floral top notes.
Spiced blueberry, raspberry, slate, this has settled in over ageing, deepened with layers of earth and gunsmoke. Soft on the finish.
