Score 90/100 · Drink 2023-2032, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2021
The 2017 Barolo is a nervy, taut wine. Crushed flowers, dried cherry, mint and spice develop first, followed by darker more balsamic-inflected shades of fruit that open with a bit of coaxing. I would give the 2017 at least a year or two in bottle, as it is not especially forthcoming today. In 2017 Ceretto did not bottle their flagship Barolo Bricco Rocche. All of the best fruit from that site was used for the straight Barolo.

Gorgeous plum aromas with flowers and hints of hazelnuts and dried nuts. Full-bodied with firm tannins. Goes on for minutes. So solid. From organically grown grapes. Surprisingly tight and structured. Needs time to open. Try after 2023.
