Score 88/100 · Drink 2001-2011, Robert Parker, Apr 2001
This 100% Merlot emerges from a 7.5-acre vineyard. The 1998 is an open-knit, sexy, dark ruby-colored wine with plenty of sweet spice, jammy black cherry fruit, cigar box, and vanillin in the aromatics as well as flavors. Displaying excellent texture, supple tannin, and low acidity, it will drink well for a decade.

Ruby-red. Cherry, cranberry, licorice and mint on the nose. Ripe-bordering-on-unctuous. Finishes with ripe, smooth tannins and good length.
