The second wine of Château Gazin, the 2020 Château Gazin Hospitalet De Gazin is 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Sauvignon (and that much Cabernet Sauvignon is rare to see in a blend from Pomerol). Deep purple-hued with solid aromatics of cassis, plums, graphite, and ripe herbs, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a round, plush mouthfeel, and a fruit-forward style that's perfect for enjoying over the coming 7-8 years or so.

The 2020 Hospitalet de Gazin has quite an airy bouquet, well-defined, not complex yet with bright blackberry and crushed strawberry fruit interlaced with orange zest, later freshly-rolled tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. There's just a bit of hardness at the moment, a little tight-fisted towards the finish, so afford this Deuxième Vin a couple of years in bottle.
