Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 D'Agassac gives up notes of crushed blackberries, blackcurrants and warm plums, plus wafts of graphite, lavender and kirsch. Medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly styled with crunchy black and red fruits and lovely freshness, textured by soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step.

The 2018 Château d’Agassac takes a little aeration to get going, but eventually reveals lovely blackberry, briar and sous-bois scents; a light touch of mint emerges with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, plenty of tobacco-tinged black fruit and a touch of black pepper toward the finely proportioned finish. Excellent.
Checking in as 63% Merlot, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Château D'Agassac has a more reticent yet solid nose of ripe black fruits, chocolate, and earthy herbs. This carries to a medium-bodied, nicely textured Haut-Médoc with good mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and good finish. I'd give bottles 2-3 years in the cellar, and it should keep for 7-8 years or more.
