Tasting notes
The 2020 Clos Badon Thunevin is brilliant, and I'd certainly be happy with bottles in the cellar. Classic Bordeaux notes of red and black fruits, white truffle, leather, lead pencil, and dried herbs give way to a medium to full-bodied, round, supple, incredibly satisfying Saint-Emilion that can be enjoyed any time over the coming two decades.

The 2020 Clos Badon still has a lot of new oak on the nose, and this is one where cuvée where it dominates the fruit expression and terroir profile. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins and good grip, but it just misses some finesse. On the finish, the wood tannins stick on the aftertaste.
The 2020 Clos Badon-Thunevin is a big, big wine, just as it was en primeur. A blast of dark cherry, plum, chocolate, leather, licorice and smoke races across the palate. An exuberant, sumptuous Saint-Émilion, Clos Badon-Thunevin is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
The 2020 Clos Badon-Thunevin packs a serious punch. Inky dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, spice and espresso jump out of the glass. This exuberant, boisterous Saint-Émilion is flashy right out of the gate. It offers quite a bit of immediacy, but also has the depth and vibrancy to develop well in bottle for many years to come.
