Tasting notes
The 2020 Beau-Site is showing just a bit of oak on the nose, though that will be absorbed with time. Blackberry and light licorice aromas percolate through. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fleshier than older vintages with decent structure towards the white pepper tinged finish. This is a fine Saint-Estèphe that should give 12-15 years' drinking pleasure.

The 2020 Beau-Site needs a little coaxing from the glass, eventually offering brambly red berry fruit and touches of licorice and cassis, gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, moderate weight and nice focus. It just misses the complexity of the Castèja family’s Haut-Médoc, Haut-Madrac, that preceded this sample; nevertheless, it should still give several years of drinking pleasure.
