Score 16.5/20 · Drink 2023-2029, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Apr 2019
100% Merlot on clay-limestone. Barrel sample. Ripe, rich, deep black fruit. Juicy and sweet fruited but a little oaky on the finish. Long and not too fleshy. A touch floral as it opens in the glass. Lots of freshness and finesse in the tannins, which are dry but not drying on the finish. A light touch in the winery. (JH)

This is firm and very tight with a ripe and compact tannin backbone to the blue fruit and hot-stone undertones. Medium to full body. Soft and lightly velvety tannins.
