Tasting notes
Treiso. Youthful mid ruby. Cool and at the same time showing impressive concentration of red fruit on the nose. Polished and juicy fruit on the palate. The fruit intensity is perfectly balanced by fantastic, tactile, sandpapery tannins. Very long, pure raspberry-fruit finish. (WS)

Here's the star wine in this flight from Ceretto. The 2021 Barbaresco Bernadot is a beautiful expression with great balance and pretty aromas of bright berry, cherry-cranberry, pressed flower, balsamic aged vinegar, dark fruit and rye biscuit or something with dark grains. The wine shows great acidity and good intensity with a long finish, and it remains sprightly overall, carrying its medium fruit weight with grace. Organic and biodynamic farming methods are used for this 4.8-hectare site.
Finely woven tannins, this packs a punch through the mid palate, with stony minerality that gives focus to the fragrant sweet raspberry and red cherry fruits underneath. Love the hidden concentration and power, hard to resist. Delicate but with a steely grip, and some beautifully enveloping floral character. Vineyard located up at 144m in the upper part of Treiso, first vintage 2000. This whole series across the 2020 and 2021 vintages makes you want to get in a car and drive to Piedmont. Winemaker Alessandro Ceretto, from 4.84ha of vines.
Perfumed with a rose stem and cherry character. Really aromatic. Medium body, soft and juicy. Very approachable and delicious now. Drink or hold.
