Score 89/100 · Drink 2015-2023, Jeb Dunnuck, Wine Advocate, Dec 2015
Another impressive wine is the 2013 St Joseph. All from granite soils and aged a combination of demi-muids and smaller barrels (all used), its inky purple color is followed by a mineral-laced wine that has crisp notes of raspberries, cherries, pepper and crushed rock. Young, tight and a touch backwards with medium-bodied richness, it excels on its aromatics, but I’d like a touch more flesh on the palate. Give it a year in bottle and drink it through 2023.
