Aromas of pear, white flowers, crisp yellow orchard fruit and oatmeal introduce Jobard's 2017 Meursault 1er Cru Poruzots Dessus, a medium to full-bodied, satiny, layered wine that displays greater mid-palate volume and texture than the lieux-dits bottlings that preceded it—though this is still a decidedly tensile, precise wine, in keeping with Jobard's style.

Some liquorice on the nose. And really quite thrilling life and composition – much more thrilling than the Genevrières. Really exciting with a beginning, middle and end to it. (JR)
