Score 95/100 · Drink 2023-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, May 2023
The 2010 Barolo Ginestra is musky with aromatics of white truffle, kirsch, sage, and leather. It has beautiful concentration and freshness of fruit, with ripe cherry lozenge, blood orange, and warming spice notes. The tannins are refined, and it is drinking well now. Drink over the next 10 to 15 years.

Monforte d’Alba. Just mid ruby with broad orange rim. Very candied and sweet on the nose and with a big impact of oak. Undeniable, modernist approach with sweet and very ripe, almost jammy, juicy fruit with punchy acidity and loads of finely grained tannins. It has the proper stuff for ageing, although the fruit looks a little evolved. (WS)
