A seriously impressive, lifted Saint-Emilion, the 2023 Château Moulin Du Cadet offers limestone-laced red and black fruits, liquid violets, crushed stone, and roasted herbs with chocolate-covered orange on the nose. Aged 16 months in 70% new barrels with the balance in stainless steel, it's rich and medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a concentrated, beautifully balanced mouthfeel and tons of classic, mineral-laced character. Tasted multiple times with consistent notes, this is a beautiful 2023 to drink over the coming two decades. Drink 2026-2046.

The 2023 Moulin du Cadet, 100% Merlot, is plump, juicy and very easy to like. Floral overtones and punchy red-toned fruit are the signatures. Plush contours wrap it all together as the 2023 builds into a long, beautifully persistent finish.
The 2023 Moulin du Cadet, aged in 70% new oak for 16 months, has quite a high-toned nose with a light eau-de-vie element that I was not expecting. This is less evident on a second bottle. The palate is medium-bodied with soft tannins, some lovely plummy black fruit with a svelte, persistent finish. Fine.
