Coming from clay and clay-limestone soils, the 2023 Château Tour Des Termes offers cassis, juicy plums, smoked tobacco, graphite, and classic Saint-Estèphe damp earth notes. Based on 56% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% Petit Verdot and aged 12-15 months in 50% new French oak, it's rich and medium-bodied on the palate, with good concentration, ripe tannins, and a solid finish. This big, rich 2023 will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age and keep for well over a decade. Drink 2029-2039.

The 2023 Tour des Termes is terrific. Rich and sumptuous in the glass, Tour des Termes hits the palate with inky dark fruit, chocolate, new leather and licorice. As always, Tour des Termes shows the more opulent, exuberant side of Saint-Estèphe. It will be interesting to see where the estate goes under its new ownership.
A fine-tannined and pretty red with redcurrants, stone and a hint of spice. Medium body. Fresh finish. 60% merlot and 40% cabernet sauvignon.
Great quality, long drawn out flavours and an enticingly measured mid palate punch of cloves and black pepper backed up by plum blueberry and raspberry fruits. 50% new oak for ageing. A sad piece year though for Tour des Termes, as the estate was bought by Irish businessman (expert in renewable energy) Eddie O’Connor in 2023, but he passed away aged 71 in January of this year. Christophe Anney, the former owner is staying on as planned to support the new manager, Julien Brustis, and Anney’s son, daughter and son-in-law, are continuing to manage the property.
