Medium-bodied, you find a wealth of flowers, plums, and cherries, with bitter chocolate in the nose, and on the palate. Bright, fresh, and almost crisp, there is a refreshing touch of citrus on the backend that adds lift, and complexity.

The 2023 Taillefer is deep garnet-purple in color. Notes of baked plums and dried mulberries slowly emerge from the glass, followed by hints of damp soil, sauteed herbs, and chargrill. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers mouth-coating black fruit preserves, with plenty of freshness and an earthy finish. The blend is 88% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc.
The 2023 Taillefer has a very light, slightly earthy bouquet that never quite clicks out of second gear. The palate is quite dry on the entry with light tannins. It gains balance toward the finish, but it just feels a little diffuse. This is an early-drinking Pomerol.
In a corner of Pomerol that can be impacted by hot vintages, they have navigated 2023 skilfully, and this is a charming wine, medium term for drinking, no need to wait too long after bottling, fresh acidities, plummy fruits, just a hint of tannic grip.
