Based on 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot aged in 30% new French oak, the 2023 Château Rahoul offers ripe black cherries, currants, smoky earth, and tobacco leaf. It's medium-bodied on the palate, with ripe tannins, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. Drink this solid effort over the coming 10-12 years. Drink 2026-2038.

The 2023 Rahoul is delicate, soft and understated. Bright red-fleshed fruit and floral, minty top notes give this mid-weight Graves plenty of immediacy.
The 2023 Rahoul has a very Graves-like bouquet with gravel-tinged black fruit, so I like the typicité here. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins but fine acidity, good density with a classically styled, black-olive-tinged finish. Worth seeking out.
69% Sémillon, 31% Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in barrel (15% new). Rich and oily and obviously Sémillon-dominant. Grapefruit, green fruits and a nicely dry finish. Moderate concentration on the mid palate, incipient complexity. (JH)
