A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc that spent 14-18 months in 30% new French oak, the 2023 Château Le Crock brings another level of depth and richness compared to the second wine. Cassis, currants, leafy tobacco, damp earth, and graphite all shine here, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a pure, graceful, layered mouthfeel, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. It might be the finest Le Crock I've tasted. There are roughly 11,000 cases produced. Drink 2028-2048.

The 2023 Le Crock is gorgeous. Aromatic, light on its feet and super refined, Le Crock is an absolute delight. Crushed flowers, spice, mint, mocha, rose petal and herbs are some of the notes that grace this lifted, wonderfully delicate Saint-Estèphe. This is Saint-Estèphe at its most sophisticated.

The 2023 Le Crock has quite a perfumed bouquet with blackberry, tobacco and light sous-bois scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, quite structured as you expect from this appellation, a dash of black pepper toward the finish with moderate length. Give this a couple of years in bottle and it will be ready to go.

Delivers on En Primeur promise, this is an irresistibly easy to drink choice, blue and red fruits, sappy fresh herbs, cocoa beans and liquorice, balanced, firm tannins. 25% new oak, final year of organic conversation, and 52hl/h yields, so a particularly good crop. Harvest September 8 to 29. One point upscore, one to look out for.
