Tasting notes
The 2023 Haura is an absolute delight. Bold, juicy and open-knit, Haura is an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Soft curves wrap around a core of red plum, mocha, licorice, new leather and dried herbs. There's a lot to like here, starting with the wine's immediacy and price.

The 2023 Haura is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it bursts with bold notes of baked blackberries and juicy raspberries, leading to hints of cardamon, pencil lead, and cedar. Medium-bodied, the palate is lightly chewy and just a little lean with soft acidity and a grippy finish.
The 2023 Haura has a pretty nose with red cherries and crushed strawberries, quite floral and expressive, though not complex. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins and good weight, but I would have liked more precision and terroir expression on the finish that tapers too sharply.
With just-ripe-enough plum, autumn leaf and herbal aromas and flavours, this wine exhibits freshness and some mid-palate juicincess, but rather stiff and drying tannins raise some concerns.
