Tasting notes
The 2023 Fombrauge has a perfumed bouquet with mulberry, raspberry and light minty scents hovering in the background. The oak here is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine line of acidity, taut and fresh, with a controlled and focused finish. Gentle grip overall, this is a well-made Fombrauge that should age well in bottle.

Attractive fruit with berries, plums and spices alongside some oyster shells and iodine. It’s medium-bodied with creamy texture and a juicy finish. Hints of mushroom and bark. 92% merlot and 8% cabernet franc. Delicious already but will age nicely. Drink or hold.
Spicy red and black fruits, leafy herbs, toasted spices, and graphite all emerge from the 2023 Château Fombrauge, one plush, sexy, full-bodied Saint-Emilion that has perfectly ripe, polished tannins, no hard edges, and a great finish.
Black cherries, flowers, chocolate covered plums , smoke, espresso, licorice and cherries create the perfume. The fruits are ripe, sweet, forward, and juicy with touches of chocolate, black raspberries, and cherries on the mid-palate, and in the finish. This should offer pleasure almost on release. The wine blends 90% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc.
