Red and black fruits, spice, cedary herbs, and chocolaty oak all emerge from the 2023 Château Beaumont, a terrific Haut-Médoc that shows the quality this estate is capable of producing. It's medium-bodied and nicely balanced, with a textured, layered mouthfeel and outstanding length on the finish. You could do much worse than having a case of this in the cellar for drinking over the coming 15 years or more. Drink 2026-2041.

The 2023 Beaumont is a tasty Haut-Médoc from the team at Beychevelle. Floral and savory Cabernet Sauvignon inflections give the 2023 lovely aromatic presence to play off the wine's supple red-toned fruit. Silky tannins wrap it all together in style. This is impeccably done.

The 2023 Beaumont has a very pretty, unpretentious but well-defined bouquet with blackberry, raspberry and light iris flower scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh and quite sapid entry, just a touch of black pepper infusing the black fruit, segueing into a graphite-tinged finish. Delivers exactly what you want.

Cru bourgeois supérieur. 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot o n s andy-gravel. Aged for 12 months in barrels. Deep crimson. Marked by an overlay of crushed stones, an attractive dustiness. Then pure black fruit. Medium-bodied, very fine tannins, all subtle and harmonious and classically Bordeaux. No shouting. Nicely dry, mellow finish. GV (JH)
