Tasting notes
With the dark green label that marks the top end of the Borgo del Tiglio portfolio, the 2022 Collio Studio di Bianco is a blend of 40% Friulano, 35% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Riesling that spends 10 months in barrel. This is an exceptional white wine, one of the best made in Italy, with energy and tension that is played across a complex bouquet. There is a patchwork of floral (gardenia) aromas, stone fruit, peach cobbler, honey and custard cream. The wine's mid-weight texture closes softly with pretty textural definition. The alcohol is high at 15% in this limited release of 1,900 bottles.

Intoxicating from the first tilt of the glass, the 2022 Studio di Bianco wafts up with a seductive bouquet of tropical citrus and florals complicated by crushed rocks, savory spices and nectarine. This is a model of purity and elegance, with silky texture and a core of ripe orchard fruits perfectly offset by a tinge of sour citrus toward the close. The 2022 continues to impress throughout the dramatically long and stimulating finale as the mouth is left watering for more. Candied lime and ginger linger on and on. The balance here is otherworldly. The 2022 Studio di Bianco is primed for a long and highly enjoyable drinking window.
About the producer

Borgo del Tiglio is one of Italy's great hidden gems. A devastating landslide in November 2025 destroyed the estate's cellars, leaving the future of the historic Ronco della Chiesa vineyard uncertain.
