Tasting notes
Classic red and black fruits, crushed stone minerality, savory flowers, and hints of meaty nuances all emerge from the 2022 Côte Rôtie. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced on the palate, it shows an elegant texture, fine tannins, and outstanding length. This has enough structure to warrant short-term cellaring and will cruise in cold cellars for 15+ years. Drink 2027-2040.

The 2022 Côte-Rôtie unfurls with ripe black cherry, spice box, dried meat and a flicker of licorice. Touching the palate with acceptable flavor concentration, the medium-bodied 2022 bundles vivid freshness, winding down with a bright finish. That said, I’d wish for a little more overall length and intensity.
90% Syrah, 10% Viognier. 100% destemmed. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation at 35 °C. Post-fermentation maceration at 30 °C. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 18 months in fine-grained oak barrels (Allier and Nevers), 50% new. Cask sample. Tasted blind. An expressive nose here with fleshy dark fruits, pastille fruits, an iron graphite note as well. The palate shows an inky core of ripe red and dark fruits, lifted and wonderful acidity. A sandalwood note creeps through on the mid palate and adds another layer of enjoyment. Very accomplished. (AC)
