Tasting notes
The Marengo family has harnessed the sunshine and the soft warmth of this vintage with an expert touch. The 2015 Barolo (with fruit sourced from four different vineyards in La Morra) is a steady, rich and softly layered expression. The wine is slightly more accessible in the near term, yet there is enough fruit density and firmness to carry it forward in time. Marco Marengo is one of the most talented winemakers in La Morra, and I highly recommend this wine for those just getting to know the complex world of Nebbiolo. Some 7,400 bottles were made.

Marco Marengo's 2015 Barolo is lovely. Medium in body, gracious and lifted, the straight Barolo is a terrific wine in its peer group. Sweet red fruit and floral notes are front and center in a mid-weight, nuanced Barolo that speaks with a sense of energy. It is a terrific entry-level offering from Marengo. Drink it over the next decade.
Focused aromas of dark berries, hot stones and a bouquet of flowers. Full-bodied yet focused and chewy with polished tannins and a medium finish. Pretty and reserved. Very 2015. Drink from 2022.
