La Morra. Just mid ruby with a broad orange rim. Balsamic yet alluring nose. Quite a lightweight palate, with drying tannins. Lacks a little in substance. A little underwhelming. (WS)

The 2012 Barolo Brunate is an attractive wine, but it also comes across as light and lacking the depth that makes Brunate one of the best vineyard sites in La Morra. This is an especially floral, delicate Brunate. Dried cherry, tobacco, flowers and mint add shades of nuance on the mid-weight finish. Perhaps I caught the Brunate going through and awkward stage, but the wine simply feels not fully developed.
