The 2015 Max has a straightforward bouquet with black cherries and redcurrant fruit, though it is missing a little bandwidth. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly savory/blood sausage entry, furry tannins and fine depth with again, a savory finish. It feels like there is some Cabernet Franc here (although there is none!) Not bad at all. Tasted blind at the 10-Year-On horizontal in London.

The 2015 Max was matured in 35% new French barriques for 22 months. It has a lovely candied bouquet of red cherries, raspberry coulis and light floral scents. More blue fruit emerges with aeration. The palate is ripe and rounded on the entry, with fine-grained tannin and a crisp line of acidity, and precise and detailed if just closing in a little toward the finish. Give this a year or two in bottle.
