Tasting notes
The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Aux Malconsorts 1er Cru has an attractive nose with vivid cranberry and wild strawberry scents. The oak is neatly integrated with a hint of oyster shell tucked in just behind. The palate has plenty of crunchy dark berry fruit, citrus fresh with hints of blood orange. It is just a little rasping towards the finish where I am seeking more composure. Otherwise, a decent Vosne-Romanée. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Les Malconsorts 1er Cru has a harmonious bouquet with red berry fruit, sous-bois , thyme and touches of dried rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, crisp with tea leaf and bay leaf, building gently towards a composed, quasi-Morey-Saint-Denis finish. The pedigree of the terroir really defines this wine, even in a tough vintage like this.
