The 2019 Magrez-Fombrauge has a high-toned, volatile nose that feels like an anachronism in contemporary Right Bank Bordeaux. The palate is sweet and candied, powerful, a lot of extraction here with an alcoholic finish. Not my style frankly. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.

The 2019 Magrez-Fombrauge is rich and decadent on the nose, perhaps less monolithic than I discerned from barrel, offering copious black cherries, mulberry and glycerine scents. The palate is full-bodied with menthol-infused red fruit and touches of licorice and allspice. Heady and extravagant on the finish, it will appeal more to those who seek hedonism in their wine glass. Personally, I prefer the 2019 Fombrauge.
The 2019 Magrez-Fombrauge has a thick dense black cherry and blueberry scented bouquet that feels just so monolithic. The palate is full-bodied with saturated tannins, glossy and sweet with layers of black fruit and salted liquorice on the finish. Impressive, but it needs charm and personality - a quibble I have meted out on an annual basis!
