Tasting notes
Beautiful long, shiny corks on these Henri Magnien wines. Mid to light crimson. Dark-red-fruited aroma with a light floral note that is perhaps unusual for Aloxe-Corton. Reminds me more of Morey-St-Denis in its combination of scent and darker fruit. Light-bodied yet harmonious as the tannins are light and sufficient for the depth of fruit, with a sort of chalkiness that makes this seem very gentle. Delicate, the opposite of showy, really refined. Remarkably approachable. (JH)

Offering up aromas of orange zest, berries, spices and toasty oak, the 2022 Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru La Coutière is medium to full-bodied, with a succulent core of fruit and sweet, powdery tannins. As usual, it's a polished interpretation of this sometimes austere appellation.
