This is a mass selection of Aligoté that includes different-sized grapes on the same bunch and needs to be picked later when the berries are darker. Rich and intense on the nose – aromas of green fruits and a minerally spice. The very high acid is balanced by the depth of fruit flavour. You have to like high-acid wines to enjoy this but the concentration is good, as is the length. (JH)
The 2021 Bourgogne Aligoté Doré has a fragrant nose with yellow plum, nectarine and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate has strong pear and grapefruit notes on the entry. There's sharp acidity with a lively citrus finish. The 2021 is very fine and refreshing.
