Tasting notes
The 2018 Barolo del Comune di Barolo is a model of grace and elegance. Silky tannins and lifted aromatics give the 2018 its delicate feel. Sweet dried cherry, dried leaves, tobacco, herbs and anise are all beautifully lifted. The Barolo del Comune di Barolo emerges from Terlo, the last parcel Luca Roagna picks. In this vintage, reaching the level of tannin maturity Roagna wanted require picking late, and that is felt, in both the tannins, but also the exotic qualities that are common in wines picked late. As for the balance, it is exquisite.

About the producer

Roagna is one of Italy’s finest estates, producing top, single-vineyard Nebbiolos in Barbaresco and Barolo. The estate’s Crichët Pajé Barbaresco is one of the rarest fine wine cuvées in Piedmont with fewer than 2,000 bottles produced each year.
