Tasting notes
Crafted from vines planted by Frédéric’s grandfather in the lieu-dit Champ Colesse in Chouzé-sur-Loire, the 2021 Bourgueil Racines offers up meaty notes mingled with dark wild berries, licorice and rose petal. Medium-bodied, concentrated and firm, it’s layered with structured tannins and a slightly rustic finish. It was matured for 12 months in 600-liter demi-muids.

The 2021 Racines is an aromatic Cabernet Franc with a touch of spritz on entry. While it's round and supple with succulent tannins and vibrant line of acidity coursing through its veins, there's a note of farmyard and vanilla oak that lingers on the finish. There's some delicious fruit underneath, and a delicate touch, but it's just a little feral.
Certified organic (Ecocert) and biodynamic (Biodyvin). Spontaneous fermentation, very low added sulphites. Quite stinky! Porky. Bacon. Animal. Committed natural-wine lovers only. (TC)
