From 2 ha (4.9 acres) of vines across eight parcels. Limestone-based soils. Mid cherry. Quite modest, muted nose. A rich and firm texture. Zesty, red and dark-pink fruits. Grows on the palate, filling out with substantial weight and depth. Firm, not frivolous. (MH)

The suavest and most youthfully expressive of Lachaux's three generic communal-level bottlings is the 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a beautifully layered, fleshy and sensual wine evocative of sweet raspberries, cherries, rose petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, with a seamless core of fruit framed by rich structuring tannins, it will reward a bit of patience, its charm notwithstanding.
