The 2021 Laroze has a very commendable, well-defined bouquet with scents of black cherries, iodine and violets, the oak very well integrated. You would imagine this coming from a much more benevolent growing season. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle grip on the entry, more-so than its peers. It's quite tangy with a briny note toward the finish that lends complexity. Bravo—a great success in the context of the vintage.
The 2021 Laroze is a very fine, elegant wine. Crushed rose petal, mint, blood orange, spice, mocha, new leather and bright saline notes all run through this sculpted, chiseled Saint-Émilion. The blend is 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Classy.
Refined nose of berries and currants with a touch of ink, cocoa powder and graphite. Elegant and linear on the palate with a medium body and firm, creamy tannins. Juicy and pretty long even if it is not quite intense in the center palate. A good expression that shows the elegance and linearity from the vintage. Drink now but better in 2025.
