Aromas of balsamic with some lead pencil, redwood and dried strawberries. Some white pepper. Medium body with a solid core of fruit and lots of flavor. Firm tannins. Savory at the end. Heritage character. Drink or hold.

The 2020 Pinot Noir de Villiers Vineyard is a powerful, dark wine. A blast of super-ripe black cherry, incense, licorice, tobacco and spice makes a strong opening impression. The 2020 is wild and a bit rough around the edges at this stage, but offers very good balance for the year.
