Tasting notes
The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos de la Maltroie 1er Cru is certainly a step up from the Village this year. The nose offers a touch of peppermint and a mixture of white and yellow fruit. Perhaps it would benefit from a little more delineation? The palate has a sense of rondeur on the entry. It's smooth in texture with moderate complexity and a dab of lemon sherbet on the finish. Fine.

24–30% new oak. A little spicier than the village Chassagne and really sustained on the palate. Stone dust lays over ripe, fresh citrus but there’s spice on the palate, too. Rich, creamy, satisfying and still so fresh. (JH)
