When Bouchard Père et Fils abandoned their long-time source of fruit, from a plot of old vines at the top of slope, Arnaud Mortet was ready to step in, and he has produced a lovely wine in the 2022 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru (négoce). Offering up aromas of red berries, cherries, orange zest, exotic spices, rose petals and smoked duck, it's full-bodied, ample and seamless, with a layered, concentrated mid-palate framed by sweet, velvety tannins, concluding with a saline finish. It coexists very confidently with the domaine wines.

About the producer
This estate, today with Arnaud Mortet at the helm, makes some of Gevrey-Chambertin’s finest wines. Working with 16 hectares, as well as a few négociant parcels, this property makes perfumed and chiselled Pinot Noir.
