The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is composed on the nose, nicely focused with subtle crushed stone aromas filtering through the red apple and pear fruit, a little petrichor here. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, quite crisp and powerful, though I need to see more precision and nervosity manifest on the finish to warrant a higher score.
About the producer
Based south of Nuits-Saint-Georges in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie was created in 1999, grouping all of Jean-Claude Boisset’s holdings under one name. The property has a total 40 hectares of vines, with extensive holdings in Vougeot as well as plots in six Grands Crus.
