The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc showed brilliantly and is a step up over the 2018. Made from 100% Roussanne. It shows the more fresh, crisp, elegant style of this white and offers a racy, bouquet, crushed citrus, white, currants, honeysuckle, and a kiss of salty minerality. Beautifully textured, medium to full-bodied and elegant on the palate, it is one classy white that should evolve gracefully for 10 to 15 years if you’re so inclined.
Subtle notes of pencil shavings and crushed stone accent tart pineapple and pear scents on the nose of Chateau Sixtine's Roussanne-dominated 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc. Medium-bodied and relatively restrained on the palate, this is tightly wound, promising to reveal more flesh in a year or two, but attractive in a young, taut way even now.
