The aromas open up as if you’re walking through a rainforest, with lush verdant greenery meeting sliced green apple, herbs, and dry peat smoke. Sweet with pomegranate juiciness, grapefruit, and woodiness, then green herbal notes, minimal spice, Sencha green tea, unsweetened chocolate, and a cool smoke develop, with a finish of waxy green leaves, stewed tea leaves, and mild smoke. Undeniably, this is an idiosyncratic Japanese classic.
