Score 96/100 · Drink 2019-2025, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Oct 2019

The 2017 Volare del Camino was produced from two plots in the Gualtallary Monastery, adding one more plot to the vines used in the 2016 vintage. It has a really captivating nose of flowers and herbs, really elegant, clean, precise and expressive. 2017 was a warmer year, despite which, the wine has kept very good acidity. It has incredible balance, really fine tannins and is very long. There is no oak whatsoever, and there is no sensation of heat; it's harmonious and balanced, focused, precise, symmetric and incredibly elegant. There is good ripeness, power, depth and concentration with finesse, a rare combination. It fermented in plastic bins with indigenous yeasts and matured in used barriques for 16 months. They have grown in quantity and expect to have a little bit more in 2018. 1,460 bottles were filled in October 2018.
