The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin La Combe Aux Moines 1er Cru, from the top of the incline, has a clean, focused bouquet of brambly red fruit, briar, crushed rock and light orange peel aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of blue fruit that gives it a Marsannay-like exuberance, then more fruit on the well-defined finish. This has a lot of potential.
