Tasting notes
Issuing from the original core Lay vineyard, this immediately plays its botrytis hand with fungal, honeyed and spicy aromas. A voluminous, richly textured palate suggests the mingling of green herbal liqueur with spiced quince and cherry preserves, leading to a sustained but faintly drying as well as prickly finish - the effect of botrytis preventing this bottling from displaying the elegance, lift and above all the primary juiciness that otherwise run through the entire 2014 Prüm collection. I also strongly suspect that this wine will be the exception to the rule as regards longevity.
